What is Kaya (香兰加椰)?

Kaya is a sweet, creamy and fragrant coconut curd spread that is immensely popular in Southeast Asian Cuisine, particularly in Malaysia, Singapore and Hong Kong.

Our Kaya is made with coconut milk, egg yolks, gula melaka, rock sugar, and pandan leaves. We cook the ingredients together in a big ol’ pot over low heat while continuously stirring until it thickens and reaches that signature thick-but-still-spreadable consistency.

We love to spread Kaya on toast with a cold slice of butter, mix it into yogurt with fruits, or even layer into cakes and various bakes - it makes for a perfect breakfast or tea-time snack!
